Paul D. Kountz, Jr., M.D., Ph.D. is a
graduate of The Spartanburg Day School and received his undergraduate degree from Wofford College. He completed the Medical Scientist Training Program at
Vanderbilt University, earning a Ph.D. in physiology as well as an M.D. He completed residencies in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at The
Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis. After training, Dr. Kountz spent fifteen years as a managing partner of Rome
Radiology Group in Rome, Georgia prior to joining Spartanburg Radiological Associates.
Dr. Kountz is a diplomat of the American Board of Radiology in diagnostic and nuclear radiology. His subspecialty expertise includes
nuclear medicine and PET imaging as well as women’s imaging.
